The Pesquería Power Plant project was awarded by Obras Magazine in the Infrastucture category of the Works of Impact in the North contest.

A jury of experts chose Techint E&C's project based both on innovations in the field of design, technology, sustainability, financing and business model, as well as estimates of economic, environmental and social impact expected once the project is in operation.

In the category Infrastructure, the Pesquería Power Plant stood out above the other five finalists: Industrial Technology Center School 277, Baseball Stadium Yaquis of Sonora, High Specialty Hospital and Advanced Medicine (Haema), Vidanta Hotel Los Cabos and Sustainable General Zone Hospital in Nogales.

The combined cycle power plant will have an installed capacity of 900 MW.
