Techint E&C won the pricing process held by Eneva for an EPC turnkey contract to build the Parnaíba V thermoelectric power plant. On Friday, August 31, the company took part in the energy auction held by the National Agency of Electric Power (Aneel) and was awarded the contract.

Techint will carry out the construction and assembly of the Parnaíba V project, which consists of the cycle closure for the Parnaíba I Plant, currently operating in an open cycle. As the only natural gas project contracted at the auction, Parnaíba will have an installed capacity of 386 MW and an average of 326 MW guaranteed, located in the Parnaíba Thermoelectric Complex in Maranhão, Brazil. Equipment will be provided by General Electric, which has extensive experience in turbogenerator technology and cycle closure.

Work is scheduled to begin in the second quarter of 2019. Eneva operates in electricity generation, commercialization and logistics and is the largest private power generation company in Brazil.
